Matt was raised on the San Francisco Peninsula and graduated from Sierra High School. He holds a BS in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and an MS in Procurement and Logistics Management from Golden Gate University. Matt spent many years in the logistics field, most notably with FedEx.

Matt moved to East Contra Costa County in 1998 in order to realize his dream of home ownership and to act on his love for boating and the California Delta.
